Turkish Bath

The hammam (Turkish bath or) is the Eastern version of steam and is considered the liquid version of the sauna. The steam played a decisive role in the culture of the Eastern countries, were gathering places, purification and architectural beauty. The Europeans knew the steam through contacts with Turkey hence renamed the Turkish hammam steam room.
In Western Europe, especially during the Victorian era, was the steam method of body purification and relaxation.
Nowadays, hammam and relaxation centers with hammam exist worldwide, offering relaxation for those who prefer them. Although the oldest steam used exclusively by men, there are women and hammam. In Greece, the oldest running steam room located in Patras and dates from 1400.
